Maharashtra government employees

State employees are paid under the Maharashtra Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2019, the state's 7th pay revision. The rules were notified by the Finance Department on 30 January 2019 (No. Vepur-2019/Pra.Kra.1/Seva-9) and apply from 1 January 2016. They follow the central 7th CPC pattern: existing basic pay is multiplied by 2.57 and fixed in a pay matrix. The state uses its own level names (for example S-20 for grade pay Rs 5,400), so the levels are not numbered like the central matrix. The Finance Department's circular of 20 February 2019 says revised pay was paid in cash from 1 January 2019, with arrears for 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2018 credited in five yearly instalments from 2019-20.
