Karnataka government employees

Karnataka does not use the central 7th CPC pay matrix. It revises pay through its own State Pay Commission. The current scales come from the 7th Karnataka State Pay Commission (constituted by GO FD 45 SRP 2022 of 19 November 2022). Government Order FD 21 SRP 2024 dated 22 July 2024 accepted Volume I of its report: a state master pay scale of Rs 27,000 to Rs 2,41,200 and 25 standard pay scales, effective notionally from 1 July 2022, with the money paid from 1 August 2024. Pay was fixed by adding 31% DA and a 27.5% fitment benefit to basic pay as on 1 July 2022. The Karnataka Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2024 were notified on 17 August 2024. Karnataka's DA is a separate state series on these 2024 scales, so its percentage is not comparable with the central DA. Source

DA for Karnataka government employees: 15.75% from 1 January 2026. Source 15.75% of basic pay from 1 January 2026 for employees on the 2024 revised state pay scales, raised from 14.25%. Pensioners and family pensioners get the same rate on basic pension. It also covers full-time Zilla Panchayat staff and full-time staff of aided institutions on time scales. Staff on UGC/AICTE/ICAR scales and judicial officers on NJPC scales get central-style DA under separate orders (60% from 1 January 2026, orders FD 7 SRP 2026 and FD 6 SRP 2026). The previous step was 12.25% to 14.25% from 1 July 2025 (FD 18 SRP 2025, 15.10.2025). No order for July 2026 was listed on 22 October 2026. Karnataka pays DA on its own pay scales, so this rate cannot be compared with the central rate.
