Assam government employees

Assam has its own state pay commissions and does not use the central 7th CPC pay matrix. Pay is under the Assam Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 2017 [A.S.(ROP) Rules, 2017], issued with Finance (Pay Research Unit) Department Resolution No. FPC.1/2017/Pt/1 dated 17 March 2017 on the report of the 7th Assam Pay & Productivity Pay Commission (report submitted 18 November 2016). The revised pay takes effect from 1 April 2016. Assam kept the running pay band plus grade pay system: 5 pay bands and 24 grade pays, with basic pay from Rs 15,900 to Rs 1,30,000. Source

Source Assam's order of 16 June 2026 raises DA to 60% 'with immediate effect', payable with the June 2026 salary in July 2026. Unlike the Centre (60% from 1 January 2026), the order states no back date and no arrears. The previous step was 58% from 1 July 2025 (order of 22 October 2025). The central DA due from 1 July 2026 had not been announced on 22 October 2026, so a further state order may follow. It is to report preferably within 18 months of its constitution, unless extended. The resolution itself gives no date from which new pay would apply. Source
