Andhra Pradesh government employees
Andhra Pradesh does not use the central 7th CPC pay matrix. It runs its own Pay Revision Commissions. Pay is now under the Revised Pay Scales (RPS) 2022, issued on the 11th PRC report by G.O.Ms.No.1, Finance (PC-TA) Department, dated 17 January 2022. RPS 2022 has a state master scale from Rs 20,000 to Rs 1,79,000. The same order applies RPS 2022 notionally from 1 July 2018, merges the 30.392% DA of that date and adds a 23% fitment, with monetary benefit from 1 April 2020 and cash payment from the January 2022 salary. G.O.Ms.No.8 of the same date fixes the state's DA at 0.91% for every 1% sanctioned by the Centre, so AP's DA percentages differ from the central ones. Source
DA for Andhra Pradesh government employees: 41.86% from 1 January 2025. Source Two orders of 11 September 2026 raise DA for employees on RPS 2022: from 37.31% to 40.04% from 1 July 2024 (G.O.Ms.No.119) and to 41.86% from 1 January 2025 (G.O.Ms.No.120). The higher rate is payable in cash with the September 2026 salary, paid in October 2026; arrears are deferred to instalments in 2027 and 2028. The state gives 0.91% for every 1% of central DA (G.O.Ms.No.8, 17 January 2022), so 41.86% corresponds to the Centre's 55% of 1 January 2025 and cannot be compared with the central 60%. We found no order for the instalments due from 1 July 2025 and 1 January 2026 as of 22 October 2026. Andhra Pradesh pays DA on its own pay scales, so this rate cannot be compared with the central rate.
Order: G.O.Ms.No.120, Finance (HR.VI-PC&TA) Department, dated 11-09-2026: DA on RPS 2022 raised from 40.04% to 41.86% of basic pay w.e.f. 01-01-2025; G.O.Ms.No.119 of the same date raised it from 37.31% to 40.04% w.e.f. 01-07-2024
Next pay revision for state employees: G.O.Ms.No.68 (12 July 2023) constituted the 12th Pay Revision Commission under Dr Manmohan Singh, whose resignation was accepted on 21 June 2024. G.O.Ms.No.200 of 1 October 2026 appointed Dinesh Kumar, a retired IAS officer, as Pay Revision Commissioner, with the report due within one year of his taking charge. The order does not say from when revised pay would apply. Source
