The 8th Pay Commission is for central government employees and pensioners, including those posted in Telangana. Telangana's own employees get pay revisions decided by the state government.

Telangana government employees
Telangana has its own Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and does not use the central pay matrix; it keeps a state 'master scale'. Pay is under the Revised Pay Scales, 2020 (G.O.Ms.No.51, Finance (HRM.IV) Department, 11 June 2021), from the 1st PRC: deemed from 1 July 2018, money benefit from 1 April 2020, 30% fitment, and the 30.392% DA of 1 July 2018 merged into pay. DA for Telangana government employees: 40.04% from 1 July 2024. Source This rate is on the RPS 2020 base, so it cannot be compared with the central 60%. It is paid with the October 2026 salary on 1 November 2026. Arrears from 1 July 2024 to 30 September 2026 go to GPF; for CPS employees 10% goes to PRAN and 90% is paid in 27 monthly instalments from the October 2026 salary; employees retiring by 31 January 2027 get the arrears in 27 instalments. G.O.Ms.No.128 of the same date gave 37.31% from 1 January 2024. The orders we found sanction nothing beyond the 1 July 2024 instalment. Telangana pays DA on its own pay scales, so this rate cannot be compared with the central rate.
