8th Pay Status

Editorial Policy

8th Pay Status reports on the 8th Pay Commission, dearness allowance and central government pay and pensions for employees, pensioners and their families. Stories are written by the 8th Pay Status desk.

Sources

We report a decision only when an official source publishes it: a Gazette notification, an office memorandum of a ministry or department, a Press Information Bureau release, an answer in Parliament or a notice of the Commission. Each story links to those sources. We do not report rumours, leaks or "expected" figures as news. Where we explain what an unannounced figure could be, we show the method and say plainly that it is not decided.

Reference pages

On reference pages (states, departments), where we cannot find an official order we may say what news reports say, labelled as reported, and we never present it as a decision.

Dates and corrections

Every story shows when it was published and, if it changed, when it was updated. If we get something wrong, we correct it, change the update date and say what changed.

Independence

We are not a government website and are not connected with the Government of India or the Pay Commission. We earn from advertising and, where shown, labelled sponsored links; neither changes what we report or any calculation.
